What’s psycho-spiritual you ask?

Feb 04, 2022

Reading through the many, many responses exploring psycho-spiritual living one thing popped out.

"What is it?" a number of you asked.

Ah... there is no definitive definition.

Instead, let's open up the exploration.

Above I have a graphic:

  • Psychology: one's connection to the inner experience, the scientific study of how a person behaves, thinks and feels
  • Spirituality: which may include a religious affiliation; it's a person's unique exploration of what's more often feeling like something's missing that you're reaching for.  For many it may include reaching for one's life purpose, connecting to the Divine, universe, spirit, God/dess, and all the many names for that which is nameless
  • This third circle I don't quite know how to name (let me know if you have a way to phrase this!) It's everything beyond our skin, the world in which we live, the relationships we have, the work we do.

Psycho-spiritual living in many ways is an integration of these three spheres.

How connected are you to each of those spheres?

Do they overlap?

Are these distinct?  Separate?

Are you more connected to one, or two?

The last two years is challenging so much for so many.  I'm intrigued with the conversations that are coming up between people.

Some people describe not fitting into the "old ways" of doing and being yet not sure what it is that they're missing or reaching for.

Yet something is changing.

I'm curious about you.

Does this resonate?  In regards to psycho-spiritual living, what are you picking up on, seeing, feeling, sensing?  What does psycho-spiritual living mean to you?
